HOUSTON, TX – March 17, 2003 – The Administaff Kenny
Houston Hall of Fame Golf Classic, a non-profit event, today
announced that proceeds from this year’s tournament will
benefit the Arts in Medicine Program at Texas Children’s
Cancer Center and Hematology Service. The Arts in Medicine Program
provides therapeutic, educational and meaningful opportunities
for patients and their families at Texas Children’s Cancer
Center. Key components of the program include participatory art
education, hands-on art activities, guest and performing artist
series and outreach on a local, regional and national basis.
The
Administaff Kenny Houston Hall of Fame Golf Classic, in its seventh
year, is scheduled to take place Oct. 10,
2003, at WindRose Golf Club located in Spring. Additional
activities include a concert and barbeque on Oct. 9, and
a card show and autograph session on Oct. 11. The location
of the concert, barbeque and card show has not yet been finalized.

with Kenny Houston and all the other people involved with
this tournament, and we are especially pleased that the tournament

Commitments to participate in this year’s
tournament have been received from many returning players
such as Bobby
Bell, Leroy Kelly, Yale Lary, Ted Hendricks, Don Maynard,
Charley Taylor, Dave Wilcox, Paul Warfield, Joe Perry, Mel
Renfro and Hal Greer. Deacon Jones and Mel Blount are also
returning following a multi-year hiatus.
